Asbury Park Hand Painted Shells

I’ve always had a thing for Tillie, the giant face that used to smile down on the streets of Asbury Park from his place on the now defunct Palace Amusements building. (For more information, and a picture of him, see my blog post here).

Yesterday was a cold, rainy day- perfect for sitting in my sewing room and painting these- two shells paying homage to Tillie and his old home, the Palace Amusements building.
