It’s record time.

There’s just so many things one can do with a record! And all of them have one thing in common—they don’t include the use of a record player…..
Why use a record to listen to music, when you can stick it in the oven for a few minutes and melt it into a freeform record bowl!

I like to melt records that have pretty lables. I don’t usually look for famous names, rather then brightly colored or decorated labels.
Here’s a small collection:

But—bowls aren’t the only thing! How about a rockin’ record purse? I drilled holes around the edge, melted the record so I could curl back the top edge (to form a place to put the handle), and then “sewed” it to a strip of fabric. Add a braided fabric strip as the handle, and you’ve got a purse!
