Two for One
I finished up two projects yesterday, so here they are.
The first is a scarf I made for my sister for her birthday. It’s made from Moda-Dea’s Cache in the color “smartie”. It’s a 77% wool ‘thick and thin’ yarn with a gold metalic fiber running through it.
I also purchased some ribbon, and skipped some double crochet stitches so I could run the ribbon through it. I really liked the way it came out. It’s about 8 feet long, not including the fringe.

And here’s a close up of the ribbon and stitching.

I also made an ice cream cone clutch.
I didn’t use a pattern, I kind of just adjusted as I went along. The cone is crocheted out of some worsted weight brown yarn I had lying around and the ice cream is knit out of Paton’s Twister. It’s a twist of chenille and eyelash yarn. The ice cream itself is drawstring (which is closed with a wooden “cherry” bead) so some small items can fit in there. It measures about 9inches high (excluding the drawstring tie)
Here it is closed:

And here it is open with my phone coming out of it:

Lets Play Catch Up
In my attempt to catch up on all of the Crafsterbating I’ve done over the past few months, I’m going to try to post one new craft project that I’ve completed either every day or every other day.
Today I present to you my plushie felt Jeep.
I made this for a contest on Craftster.org. The rules were simple: Make any inanimate object out of felt. Other supplies could be used, but majority of the project had to be made out of felt. I hemmed and hawed for a few days over what I should make, tossing around ideas such as felt food, a felt Cinderella Castle, my Jeep, and a few other things. I finally decided that a tribute to my car would be fitting.
First I went out to my driveway, and sketched my car from all angles.

I also then took detailed measurements, and decided my felt jeep would be a 1:8.5 scale.

Ok–let’s get started: We need our drawings, a tape measure, calculator and of course, felt!

Here we have the sides and tailgate done:

The windshield and grill are done!

And then simply add a roof, hood and bottom, and you’ve got a little felty Jeep.
Meet mini Consuela, sitting on her full sized counterpart–Princess Consuela, my 1997 Magenta Jeep Wrangler:

And what good would a Jeep be if she couldn’t go off roading?

Unfortunately, I didn’t win the contest–I came in 5th. But it was fun anyway!
Apple Cozy

So yeah, I’ve got a bit of catching up to do here.
It’s been almost 10 months, but that doesn’t mean I haven’t been working….I’ll get caught up on here soon.
Here’s my latest “invention”–the apple cozy.
I got my inspiration from an etsy seller, and searched the internet for a crochet pattern (I don’t think I’d be able to knit it, like the original seller did….) and came up with nothing, so I sort of came up with this on my own.
Now my apple is all nice and cozy, and well protected from dings and scuffs while sitting in my bag.
